Love Touches Me!
Every time we have deployed after a disaster, there is a story that surfaces that is a beautiful expression of selfless love! Quapaw is no exception. When the storm did so much damage to this small tight-knit community, it was less than a month from graduation for some 25-30 high school students.
They decided to forego their senior trip that they had raised $1600 to pay for. In this small rural community, $1600 is lot. Soon the word of their sacrifice hit the news and many businessmen throughout the state of Oklahoma decided to see to it that they would be able to take their trip after all.
When it was all said and done, they had received $35,000! Not only were these seniors able to take their once in a lifetime trip to Dallas, but with the permission of the donors, they have donated enough funds to transform a devastated area into a beautiful park for Quapaw AND also help this special needs young man by giving him a special motorized cycle to ride!
Love…it touches me!

When crisis comes, it seems like everything suddenly is going backwards! It seems that times are dark and difficult. But as the Lord shows up and His Church connects with volunteers, officials and those in need, things begin to improve and the load gets lighter. Often, things end up better than even before! We pray that each of us can RISE TO THE TIME IN HIM!
