Look What The Lord Has Done!

2013 has been an eventful year for us. In January, the Lord moved us from the Houston area back to Vickie’s hometown, Denison, Texas. Moving from the suburbs to acreage in the country has been quite an experience for us personally.  As we prepared to move we sensed the Lord had purpose beyond our expectations. Returning to her hometown after more than 40 years, Vickie felt like she was being called as a missionary of sorts to the town she left behind as a rebellious teen. Located in NE Texas, with pockets of poverty and high addictions, Denison is very much in need of the Lord’s Transforming Power. He has already opened the door for ministry partnerships with local ministries and churches who yearn to see Community Transformation touch this city and region.

Rise to the Time was recently given a building located on one of the major streets in our community. We are very excited at the opportunity afforded to us with the ownership of this building. But, before it can begin to fulfill our vision of housing our office and a local Community Prayer and Training Center there are some repairs needed. We also plan to use the back yard area for a garden for the local community.

The process has begun with planning and vision casting, but we need your help to impact our community for Jesus! The building is in need of minor roof repairs, several ceiling joists and sheetrock replacement in the big room. One corner of the foundation also needs work.

Denison has shown real signs of lasting transformation and we want to be a part of what God is doing here! Will you help us?

We believe the Lord has brought us here for times such as this!

December 2013

We envision the following uses for the building:

✦Community Prayer Center
✦Training Center
✦Community Garden
✦Rise To the Time Offices & Disaster Resource storage

How you can help:

  • Pray for the vision to become reality- For the sake of the Kingdom
  • Cash Donations- Total material costs for repairs/ remodeling is currently estimated at a minimum of $10,000. There will also be additional expenses for the community garden set up.
  • Gifts in Kind- Computers, tables, chairs, sound equipment, etc.
  • Volunteer your time- some repairs require skilled labor, but many don’t.
